Shelf Sort privacy.
Effective 1 November 2026 · Applies to Shelf Sort builds and this game support site.
Who is responsible
Polytude, Netherlands, publishes Shelf Sort and is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. Contact us at info@polytude.com for support and privacy requests.
Your progress and device storage
The game stores level progress, settings, earned coins, tool credits, puzzle state and recovery backups on your device. Shelf Sort does not require a player account. Local progress remains until you reset it, clear app data or uninstall. Your operating system may also back up app data according to its own settings.
A support report records a limited history of game and ad diagnostics on the device. It is shared with us only if you choose to export and send it. Clipboard backup and restore happen when you select those controls.
Optional usage statistics and diagnostics
Supported builds offer optional usage statistics using Google Analytics for Firebase. When enabled, statistics can include app launches and sessions, tutorial progress, level attempts and results, moves and rejected moves, matches, combos, reveals, objectives, tool use, rewards, collections, daily challenges and update interactions. Technical information can include app and content version, device and operating-system characteristics, language, approximate region, timing and performance. Firebase uses an app-instance identifier to distinguish installations.
Optional crash reports use Google Firebase Crashlytics under a separate choice. When enabled, these reports can include error types, code stack traces, app and device characteristics, crash and session identifiers, and limited context such as level, theme and content revision. We use them to diagnose crashes and improve reliability. Our Dart error handler records the error type rather than the exception message, and does not attach clipboard backups, player contact details or a manually assigned player identifier.
Usage statistics and crash reporting are both off until you enable each one. You can change either choice independently in Settings. Turning usage statistics off stops future usage collection and resets the analytics identifier. Turning crash reporting off stops new optional crash reports and discards unsent reports; reports already sent remain subject to the retention policy. Usage or crash permission does not by itself enable personalised advertising. We do not collect names, contact lists, messages, microphone recordings or precise location through gameplay analytics, and do not record videos of your screen or raw touchscreen input.
Advertising
Supported Android builds use Google AdMob to show ads. Ad services and their disclosed partners may process IP addresses, advertising or app identifiers, device information, approximate location, ad interactions and diagnostic information to deliver ads, measure their performance, limit frequency and prevent fraud. These technologies can include device storage, cookies in embedded ad content and similar identifiers. The information used and whether personalised advertising is available depend on your region, consent choices and device settings.
Where required, the game presents Google's consent message before requesting ads and provides an advertising privacy entry point in Settings. You can also use your device's advertising-ID and privacy controls. Declining optional statistics does not prevent ordinary play. Rewarded ads are optional and describe the in-game benefit before you choose to watch. Test builds may use demonstration ads that do not generate publisher revenue.
See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from partner apps. Any additional advertising partners are identified through the applicable consent message and privacy choices.
Configuration, updates and this website
The game may request current release information, content manifests and configuration from our hosting provider. These network requests expose an IP address and standard connection information to the hosting provider. Configuration helps us deliver compatible content, control advertising and disable faulty features. The game remains usable with bundled content when optional configuration cannot be fetched. App updates are distributed through the app store.
This support website does not embed analytics scripts or advertising. Firebase Hosting, operated by Google, processes connection information needed to serve and protect the site.
Why data is processed
We use consent for optional analytics and for advertising technologies where consent is required. Device-local progress and essential service operations support the game you request. Limited security, fraud prevention and support processing may rely on legitimate interests, subject to your rights. We process information needed to meet legal obligations when applicable. We do not sell your contact information or use gameplay analytics to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Service providers and transfers
We use Google services for hosting, analytics, diagnostics and advertising where those features are enabled. Providers may process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area, under their applicable contracts and transfer safeguards. Google provides information about its data-transfer frameworks. We share information when necessary to provide the described services, respond to your request, protect the service or meet a legal obligation.
Retention
Local saves remain under your control as described above. The local diagnostic history is bounded and replaces older entries. Identifiable analytics data and exports under our control are retained for no more than 14 months; technical crash records may expire sooner. Aggregated information that no longer identifies an installation may be retained to compare game versions. Support correspondence is normally deleted within 12 months after the issue is resolved unless a longer period is needed for a legal obligation or dispute. Advertising providers apply their own retention periods and privacy controls to data for which they are responsible.
Your choices and rights
You can decline or withdraw optional statistics and review advertising privacy choices in the game. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to certain processing by emailing us. We may need limited information to identify the relevant installation or request; do not send an account password. You can complain to a supervisory authority, including the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that lawfully occurred before withdrawal.
Children and policy changes
Shelf Sort is intended for ages 13 and up and is not specifically directed at children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us. We will update this policy when the game's data practices change and obtain a new choice where required. The effective date above identifies this version.
